I'm just trying to address the health hazards of cocobolo and other rosewood used in a pipe. First, I would never use this wood to make pipes just because of the risk of serious injury. Oh no, using this scaffolding for pipes seems like the height of stupidity to me. 

The problem with the cocobolo pipe is that there is a good chance they will put someone in the hospital and they have no idea why. If the people using these pipes were afraid of exposing themselves to dangerous substances, they would not smoke drugs at all. 

Essentially, the forest in question is just a decorative ring that never touches the smoke. ...we make pipes out of these woods, process them like a "normal pipe tree" (it's boiled first to remove the resin by the way) and then what happens - my argument is that you heat the volatile oil and suck them repeatedly into your mouth/breast. 

Due to aggressive (hot) smoke, wood defects, a hole in the tobacco chamber of the briar pipe can burn through. The bowl can also get very hot depending on the material and the speed of smoking. 

(1) the bowl, this is also the "knocked down" part from top to bottom to loosen and release the colliding used tobacco. Pipe bowls are usually made from rosehip, sea foam, cob, pear, rosewood, or clay. I did a little research and found that two beautiful pipes were made from rosewood. 

I got into wood ring making after discovering ebony, wenge, wood koa and kauri, all of which are a joy to work with in the hustle and bustle. How To Break In A Briar Pipe

 By correctly breaking the tube, two goals can be achieved; removes juices and resins that may be left over from the briar drying process and forms a crust (charcoal) that protects the pipe and provides a fresh, dry smoke. This allows the briar pipe to breathe, absorb moisture and tobacco oil, providing a fresh and dry smoke.
